This course is specifically designed for kids wanting to learn the basics of mountain biking. Led by BCIP trained instructors, children will be learning ten fundamental steps in their mountain biking experiences.

This introductory lesson series is designed for kids 6 to 9 years of age. In a 4:1 ratio, new MTB'ers will receive personal attention and instruction as they learn the ten fundamental skills of mountain biking:
- Ready state position
- bike / body separation
- pedal position
- eye movement
- braking
- steering
- speed and speed control
- gearing and cadence
- timing and coordination
- pressure control

Kids must have a multi gear mountain bike style bike that is in good working order, both shifting and braking. A properly fitted CSA approved bike helmet and closed toe shoes are also required.

Each class session is 75 minutes in length. Please ensure you bring along a water bottle on warm or hot days and protective gear on rainy days as sessions proceed under all weather conditions.
