Hike Rail Jam Registration Fee
Product Description
Event Name: 2025 Season Opener Hike Rail Jam
Date: SUNDAY NOVEMBER 23rd 2025
Time: 11AM - 3PM
Location: Edmonton Ski Club
Discovery Zone Small Park
Cost: $25
Event Overview:
The Edmonton Ski Club’s annual Hike Rail Jam brings the local ski and snowboard community together for an energetic, on-snow session that celebrates freestyle progression, community spirit, and friendly competition. This year’s event will feature three skill-based features — a beginner box, intermediate PVC tube, and expert rail — allowing riders of all abilities to participate and showcase their best tricks.
As a hike-style event, no lift passes are required; participants will hike up to the start area between runs. The format promotes an inclusive and grassroots vibe, encouraging camaraderie among participants and spectators alike.
Purple wristbands will be handed out when participants check in.
Lunch will be included for all registered participants, featuring a barbecued hot dog and pop served on-site.
Depending on timing and community input, this year’s jam may also serve as a memorial event, honouring members of our ski and snowboard community who have made a lasting impact on the hill and surrounding community.
Event Schedule:
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Open Session
Riders are free to hike and ride any of the three features at their own pace. This time allows for warm-up, practice, and casual runs.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Rail Jam Competition
The competition session begins, each participant will have two/ three attempts to show off their skill to the sponsors.
Prizes:
Judging/ Sponsors will award Prizes to participants that stood out among the group. This can be for a variety of different reasons, but the idea is to create a fun event where all rides can enjoy the snow before the season starts.
Prizing: We are working on getting sponsorships, or in kind donations from local companies in the area. We may also ask for companies who promote winter fun, instead of solely skiing or snowboarding.
Community Impact:
The Hike Rail Jam fosters creativity, inclusivity, and grassroots progression within Edmonton’s ski and snowboard scene. It provides a safe, welcoming space for riders to connect, develop skills, and celebrate the community’s shared love of winter sports — making it one of the club’s most anticipated early-season events.
